Fishing Report June 7th, 2014 - Rick Shoup Allatoona

Crappie: Fish are being caught using Big Bite 1/8 oz crappie jigs tipped with a 2" Triple Tip Lemon Meringue grub long-lined in 20-30ft of water. Fish the break lines!

Spotted Bass: Good quality spotted bass are crushing topwater baits early around main lake and secondary points. Throw Strike King Sexy Dawgs in the sexy shad color or a Big Bite 6" Super Shad swim bait (bream color) fished with a 5/0 Gamakatsu wide gap weightless hook. Both of these baits can be fished with 15# Berkley Big Game monofilament line. Remember to fish SLOW. As the sun gets up, go to a drop shot concentrating on main lake points from 19-25ft. With all the boat traffic on the weekends, a lot of bass are schooled in the mouths of main lake pockets. Use your graph to locate these fish then drop down on them.

Striper/Hybrid: Good numbers of hybrids are being caught early all over the lake. Look for schooling activity In the mouths of creeks. Live shad free lined and down lined have been producing. Stripers will be mixed in with the hybrids.

White Bass: Best chances of boating good numbers of white bass is in the evening. Fish are schooling on the surface the last 2 hrs of daylight in the mouths of creeks and around main lake flats. Target these fish using 1/4 oz white rooster tails on spinning tackle.
